Early Access features

The Early Access features page lists features which a ThoughtSpot administrator can enable or disable. They are disabled by default.

Early Access features are currently available to Enterprise customers only.

Early Access features page

The following Early Access features can be enabled by your ThoughtSpot administrator:

Advanced settings for charts

Configure various chart settings like tooltips, data labels, grid lines, etc. For more information, see Advanced chart settings.

ClickHouse connector

Enable to create connections to a ClickHouse data warehouse to analyze data directly from your ClickHouse database. For more information, see Add a ClickHouse connection.

Categorize connectors

Toggle categories for connectors while creating a connection. For more information, see Categorizing Connections.

OAuth Redirection Behavior

When enabled, the OAuth authentication URL opens in the current page instead of a new tab or popup. Applies to Liveboards, search and Answers. For more information, see OAuth redirection behavior.

Automatic OAuth Sign-In Trigger

When enabled, automatically triggers the 'Sign in with OAuth' screen when the connection’s authentication has expired. Applies to Liveboards, search and Answers. For more information, see Automatic OAuth Sign-in Trigger.

Selective User Access

Provides selective access to ThoughtSpot pages through both the ThoughtSpot instance URL and the embedded content of your host application.

New Pivot table

The new pivot table delivers faster performance, more customization options, and a superior user experience. For more information, see Pivot table charts.

Muze Studio

Muze Studio is a powerful charting library that allows you to create custom visualizations that are not available by default in ThoughtSpot. For more information, see Creating charts with Muze Studio.

New connection configuration experience

Enable to switch to new connection configuration experience in the Data workspace. For more information, see New connection configuration experience.

Categorize and style visualizations within Liveboard

While editing a Liveboard, you can create groups to categorize visualizations. You can also change the visualization, group and Liveboard’s background color along with other styling options.

Link parameters across models

Similar to linked filters, you can link parameters of the same data type across different models. This lets you easily control multiple parameters from a single parameter chip.

New chart settings experience

A fully redesigned chart settings panel with smarter layout and easier access.

ThoughtSpot AI page

The following Early Access features can only be enabled by navigating to Admin > All orgs > ThoughtSpot AI.

Spotter Agent

You can ask questions directly about your data, ask for suggestions on the next direction you should take in your analysis, and ask Spotter how it calculated fields like formulas. For more information, see Spotter Agent. To enable this feature, navigate to Admin > ThoughtSpot AI and select Spotter Agent for Spotter answer experience.

Answer Why questions

Spotter can answer questions about why a metric has changed, such as "Why did sales drop last month?" For more information, see Why questions in Spotter. To enable this feature, navigate to Admin > ThoughtSpot AI and set Answer Why questions to Enabled.

Natural language instructions

You can teach Spotter core concepts, default behaviors, and specific data nuances by adding natural language instructions directly to a data model. For more information, see Natural language instructions in Spotter. To enable this feature, navigate to Admin > ThoughtSpot AI and set Natural Language instructions to Enabled.

Enabling an Early Access feature

To enable one or more Early Access features, do the following:

  1. Go to the Admin tab, and select the All Orgs tab (if there are multiple Orgs).

  2. Select Early access features.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. For each feature you want to enable, click the status slider to set the feature to Early access features toggle Enabled.

  5. Click Save.

Disabling an Early Access feature

To disable one or more Early Access features, do the following:

  1. Go to the Admin tab, and select the All Orgs tab (if there are multiple Orgs).

  2. Select Early access features.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. For each feature you want to disable, click the status slider to set the feature to Early access features toggle Disabled.

  5. Click Save.

Enabling or disabling Early Access features causes a service interruption of a few minutes for all users. To minimize disruption, we recommend making changes during a scheduled maintenance window.
